3-Day Milan Itinerary on a Budget - Day 3

Milan Day 3: 10th June Sun

8.30 am took the tram to the tram stop, P.za Ventiquattro Maggio (I actually overshot one station) to see street art. I check out this website for the nearest street art that I'm interested.

When I alighted, I saw the Porta Ticinese.

Porta Ticinese
I walked back towards tram stop, C.so S. Gottardo Via Lagrange.

Many stores weren't opened. You can see paintings on the rolling shutters.

Then turned right and walked the road, Via Giuseppe Lagrange.

Artist Pao's street art was my main goal. This bridge connects Via Lagrange to Via Gola.

Crossed the bridge to the other side.

Then continue down the road, 12 Via Emilio Gola

I walked down the Naviglio Pavese to the another bridge.

My street art journey ended here. I walked to the tram station, Largo Mahler, and took the tram back to my Airbnb.

Below is the route I took to view the street art.

We checked out at 10 am.

By 11 am, we reached the Airport.

Do check in earlier so you can shop the items inside. Enter the departure door then you can shop more interesting shops.

British Airway

3.50 pm: There was a delay at Milan airport. We waited inside the airplane for like 1 hour before taking off.

5.35 pm: Depart Milan. Complimentary meal provided.

7.55 pm: Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 to Changi Airport Terminal 1

London Transit. There wasn't a need to rush to board I think, but we did cause it was the first time we undergo transit and we didn't know how long before do we need to be at the gates. We should have spend more time shopping at duty free store. Saw a big Paddington Bear at the store.

You can see magnificent view of the mountains. This wasn't a view you see often! So a window seat is recommended when flying back to Singapore.

Luckily the seat at the aisle don’t have people so we were able to lie down. However, it was still a bit hard to sleep. We took turns lying down. There was turbulence where we need to wake up to put on seat belt.

11 June Mon
4.10 pm: Reached Singapore!

Note, if you plan to buy wine, buy it after you have passed through the gates.

And that's all for my 21D20N Europe Trip 2018 (20th May to 11 June 2018)!

3-Day Milan Itinerary on a Budget - Day 1 & 2

Milan Day 1: 8th June Fri

We walked to the metro and buy the tickets at the metro station.

We eat dinner at our Airbnb.

Milan Day 2: 9th June Sat

We bought the unlimited 24 hour transport pass.

We reached Sforza Castle at 12 pm. There were peddlers selling bracelet. Do be careful. There was different entrances to the castle.

The exit we used had fountain just right outside.

By 12.30 pm, we walked our way to Milan Cathedral/Duomo di Milano

Street art

We reached Milan Cathedral at 1 pm. It was sunny and hot in the afternoon. There were only shades near the gates of the Cathedral.

Viewing from afar let you take in the grand architecture

The Cathedral architecture was super grand.

Detail of the bronze gates of the Duomo di Milano
I don't know why the legs were touched so often.

There were people offering you food to feed the pigeons. I don't think it was for free.

After spending 20 minutes taking photos and admiring the Cathedral, we walked to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II which was right beside the Cathedral. It was filled with luxury stores. The shopping malls beside the Cathedral have air-con, helping to cool you down after the expose to the brutal sun.

At 2.50 pm, we took the Tram to Fiera di Sinigaglia. It is a flea market that sells clothes from 1 euro. Many were second hand items. Not all are in good condition. However, we did see some good conditioned winter jacket at 5 euro.

There is a shop near the end of the market selling bubble tea!
After since we have some time, we decided to go visit the Peck which was near to the Cathedral.

Passed by the back of the Cathedral.

Then we passed by a tower building that we didn't see previously. We thought the main entrance will be in front, so we didn't go down this alley. But we were wrong. In the end, we were too lazy to walk back to see the building so we missed it.

Passed by Museo Duomo as we go to Peck.

We finally reached Peck at 5.26 pm. Indeed, the food souvenir here was expensive.

We decided to go to Isola to take some picture of street art. We reached at 6.20 pm and saw a flea market clearing up. There were stalls selling fruits.

Clearing up
I didn't manage to find any spectacular street art. But I still spot many nice street art as we walked to Chinatown.

After a long walk, we finally reached Chinatown at 6.54 pm.

In Chinatown, there were many stores that sold wholesales clothes. Many were closed by the time we were there.

There was a supermarket, Chineat (via Paolo Sarpi 15), that sold Asian foods! After so many days in Europe, seeing familiar foods made us want to just buy, buy buy.

We were thinking to buy some food and go back to Airbnb and eat. But we wanted to try the Chinese food in Europe so instead we decided to try out the food from this shop first. The price of the food was cheaper than a meal in a restaurant.

Ravioleria Sarpi

Finally dinner at 7.25 pm.

Don't recommend this

肉夹馍
This is not bad! 肉夹馍
In the end, we didn't buy anything from the supermarket since we were going back to Singapore the next day.

At 8 pm, we walked to the metro to get back to our accommodation. Streets were quiet.
