Paris Day 4: 27th May 2018 Sun
We went to
Musée d'Orsay in the morning, around 10.40 am, then realised the ticket that associate with the eurostar ticket was not free tickets but 2 adult tickets for the price of 1. So we didn’t went in. The outside view was quite grand but I suppose you need to walk very much further to get the full view of the architecture.
We took the metro and reached
Arc de Triomphe around 11.30 am.
|
Arc de Triomphe |
There was a small stretch of pathway in the middle of the road facing the Arc de Triomphe. There was people queuing there to take photo of sitting in the middle of road with the Arc as the background.
|
Long Underpass to the Arc |
You can not just cross the road to the Arc. Instead take the underpass to the Arc. There will be people queuing to pay to go up the Arc. If you just want to see the Arc underneath of the Arc, just walk pass them and walk up the staircase beside them. the queue will be like in the middle of the long underpass.
|
Flag waving just under the Arc. |
|
The sculpture at both sides of the Arc |
After taking picture of the Arc, it was already 12.30 pm. We walked down the
Champs-Elysées to
Pedra Alta. There were many restaurant and luxury shops. We also saw some race car on the way.

LV at Champs-Elysées |
|
Pedra Alta |
We queued for more than 30 minutes. We only managed to enter at 2 pm.
|
What we planned to eat |
|
Long plate of fries that come with Riz Grill |
|
Riz Grill 44.80 euro. There's free bread (it's very hard though). |
Riz Grill is sufficient for 2 people. For 4 people, you wouldn't feel full, just no longer hungry. We added Fillet de Bouf, and the waiter was kind to exchanged the plate of fries for salad when I mentioned that I don't want another plate of fries (It took a while to communicate in English but we managed).
|
The chips that look like "fries" are crispy but those near the bottom can be too salty |
|
Fillet de Bouf - $43.85 euro |
The Fillet de Bouf is okay only though, wouldn't recommend it.
At another table, someone was celebrating birthday. All the waitress sang Happy Birthday song in many languages. The atmosphere was quite high at the moment.
There was washroom in the restaurant. We took some potable water from the washroom.
|
Grand Palais |
After we finished eating at 3.25 pm, we walked around 30 minutes to
Grand Palais. We took photos of the exterior.
|
The side facing Petit Palais |
We visit
Petit Palais opposite of it.
|
Petit Palais |
|
The dancer Sacha-Lyo |
|
Designer: Girault |
There were toilet in the museum. There were seats outside the toilet, so you can sit and wait for your accompaniment when required.
We exit the museum at 5.30 pm.and walked 15 minutes to Pont Alexandre III.
|
Pont Alexandre III |
|
Took a photo when crossing the road. |
There was a very grand building at the end of the Pont Alexandre III. I think it is a university.
